T P Chimney Sweeps are proud members of the National Association Of Chimney Sweeps, they have advised their members should they be asked to sweep a customers chimney that has an unapproved terminal which are designed for disused chimneys that they should inform them that these unsafe terminals need be removed prior to sweeping. These terminals restrict the draw of the chimney which can result in the products of combustion including carbon monoxide gas to spill into your house.
We recommend that an approved chimney cowl is then fitted along side a carbon monoxide detector.
